Sucess Story #1

Plant Closure

The company

Electronic circuit manufacturer/plating operation

Project background

Customer had to be out of the plant and have everything turned over to the landlord within 45 days. The scope of the project included closing and removing the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and receiving closure approval from the County and State environmental regulatory agencies.

Results

With only 45 days to go, Allegiant Global® contracted with four environmental service companies on site, as well as six disposal and recycling companies, to get the job done. Allegiant Global worked with the remaining plant personnel and the equipment auction company to achieve a smooth process. This project was particularly challenging as the client did not have a comprehensive closure plan in place and was a union shop. Within 30 days the WWTP closure was accepted by the County and State regulatory agencies and the client was released from any further obligation. During the closure process Allegiant Global was given additional responsibility to perform building demolition and equipment dismantling to ensure that the 45-day deadline was met. The project was successfully completed on time and within budget.

Success Story #2

Lagoon Soil Remediation

Over the course of two years this battery manufacturing facility was demolished while Allegiant Global worked seamlessly with on-site contractors to ensure the loading, transportation, and disposal of contaminated soils and facility debris did not interfere with daily operations. During this ongoing project, over 50,000 tons of PCB contaminated soils were removed from the site, as well as various other hazardous materials that were generated during the demolition. Additionally, various other site projects occurred including managing the logistics of the removal of the hazardous wastewater treatment sludge and managing the sampling and analysis of unknown waste streams. Allegiant Global was able to provide on time delivery and streamline the disposal and transportation of all material so that the site team was able to focus on the operations of the plant demolition.

Success Story #3

Decommissioning of lead-impacted sludge tank

Allegiant Global managed the decommissioning of a 250,000-gallon wastewater treatment clarifier tank. The project needed to be completed within one week due to the requirements of a property transaction. The tank required the utilization of confined space procedures for the cleaning of the lead-impacted sludge. Allegiant Global was able to staff the project with appropriately trained personnel within a short lead time which assisted in completing the project within the allotted time. Cleaning, transportation, and disposal were coordinated so that daily operations of the plant were not interrupted, and minimal involvement of the on-site environmental engineer was required.

Success Story #4

Cleanout of filtration tanks

Allegiant Global coordinated the clean out of two 10,000 gallon filtration tanks on short lead time. Two filtration tanks, essential to the daily operations of a large automotive parts manufacturer, were malfunctioning due to build up of sludge. Within five days notification, Allegiant Global was able to allocate the appropriate resources in order to meet the customer’s requirements. In order to not interrupt the operations of the plant, the labor for this job was completed over one weekend.

Success Story #5

Wastewater treatment plant closure

Allegiant Global managed a wastewater treatment plant closure for an electronic circuit manufacturer. Allegiant began the project working closely with site personnel to develop the Closure Plan. Furthermore, all the activities performed were registered with local and state environmental officials in order to obtain approval that the site was free of any contamination and no further action was necessary. Allegiant Global managed multiple contractors, each with different requirements, to ensure the WWTP closure would be completed by the required time and meet all of the regulatory requirements.

Success Story #6

Plant closure

Allegiant Global managed the plant closure of an electronic circuit manufacturing facility. Work included the decontamination and removal of plating lines, capital asset removal, tank decommissioning, and manufacturing equipment decontamination, as well as sump and pit cleaning. Additionally, Allegiant Global coordinated site demolition and managed the transportation and disposal of waste from project activities.

Success Story #7

Bag house removal

Allegiant Global coordinated the cleaning, disassembling, and removal of three bag houses, duct and associated support structures.
