October 1st, 2007, Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico- Faced with the concern of an imminent climatic change in the World and the concern regarding the finding of hazardous waste and substances, the IMIQ of the Mexican border organized the IX successful technical event “ Climatic Change, Perspectives and Experiences”.

Three speakers presented very important topics for the Juarez community. Yanet Montanez, a senior manager for Allegiant Global Services Project Management Group, presented “ Using Geophysics to find hazardous waste and substances in soil remediation projects”. The other speakers were Andrés Flores Montalvo, PhD., from National Institute of Ecology – SEMARNAT and Daniel Chacon Anaya former director of Civil Protection of the Juarez County and member of the Border Ecology Cooperation Commission.

The event was organized by the IMIQ members Juarez Section with the objective of communicate environmental information to the different levels of the community. “Using geophysics during your remedial analysis phase can significantly reduce the total cost of sampling and analysis on remediation projects,” Ms. Montanez said.
